My Poetry and Amateur Photography

29 Jan

As you may or may not have noticed, I recently added two new pages to my blog and website: Poetry and Photography. I debated for a long time as to whether or not I would put these out for the world, but in the end I thought my readers might like to see these other sides of me.

I’m really an artist at heart and to me that means many different forms of art, including writing. I love to find beauty in the world, even in things others might not find so beautiful. One example—which I won’t put up because I know it may make others sick—is a set of photos I took of turkey vultures eating road kill. No, I don’t find the road kill beautiful, but I do find the vultures beautiful even when they are doing what comes naturally to them.

Like I said, though, don’t worry because I won’t put up any photos like that.

I didn’t turn comments on for the poetry and photography sites, but if you would like to leave comments about either, this is the place to do it. After you take a look, let me know what you think.

You can either go to the tabs above or simply click here for my poetry site and here for my photography site. They are each only one page just to give some samples. Hope you enjoy! 😀

I love your pictures and this site. The only recommendation is that when viewers click on the banner to see your photos, it really should open a new page so that we are not leaving the main page. You can do this by <a target="_blank" – before the link. If you need help, just contact me. My blog now has a contest page that lists different places you can submit your photos to –

Hi Denise, thanks so much. I’m glad you like my pics and site. I didn’t know there was a way to make the banner do that if it didn’t offer it when creating the link. Thanks for the info. I’ll go through and do that. I really appreciate the tip. I’ll use that for some of the pics on the side here, too, because it didn’t give me the option to have them open in a new tab.
